Executive leaders and high-performing professionals operating in complex, high-visibility environments.
The Joyous Edge
Turning a leadership philosophy into a coherent brand, visual language and digital experience.
A strong idea needed a world around it.
The Joyous Edge began with more than a request for a logo. The project needed to translate Joy St. John’s experience in executive leadership and high-stakes corporate transformation into a premium brand that could feel authoritative without becoming cold or generic.
The design problem was therefore larger: clarify the promise, define the emotional tone, establish the visual system and create a website experience capable of carrying the brand forward.
Start with the person behind the brand.
Discovery identified the core audience, leadership challenges, desired outcomes and the tension at the center of the idea: high performance without losing clarity, integrity or joy.
Overcommitment, burnout, competing priorities and the difficulty of influencing at the highest levels.
Greater clarity, strategic influence, sustainable leadership and a stronger sense of purpose in the work.

From consulting language to a leadership narrative.
“Lead Where It Matters Most.”
The homepage strategy was deliberately simplified. Instead of trying to explain everything at once, the experience was organized to establish authority, create emotional resonance, build trust and then invite action.
The site architecture became a narrative: credibility, leadership challenge, method, outcomes, services and a clear invitation to begin a conversation.
Calm authority. Strategic clarity. Human warmth.
The visual direction paired executive seriousness with a more cinematic and emotionally grounded atmosphere.
Headlines, emotional statements and hero messaging.
Navigation, body copy, calls to action and supporting information.
The brand needed a structure people could remember.
The Joyous Edge Method™ was organized into four steps that turn complexity into a clear leadership progression.
01Assess & Align
Identify strengths, blind spots and organizational realities.
02Strategize & Simplify
Cut through complexity and define actionable priorities.
03Influence & Inspire
Strengthen executive presence and board-level communication.
04Execute & Elevate
Lead with resilience, clarity and sustainable momentum.
The thinking was documented, not left in the room.
Strategy, palette, typography, photography direction and website architecture were captured as working brand documentation so the identity could remain consistent as the platform expanded.

Not a brochure. A premium executive narrative.
The website system was designed around cinematic pacing: dark violet atmospheric sections alternating with warm ivory readability zones, restrained typography, native web text and strong environmental imagery.
On desktop, the hero was specified to occupy roughly 85% of the viewport; mobile reduced that to 72% so the experience remained immersive without becoming cumbersome.

One visual language, multiple ways to engage.
